Last updated: December 21, 2023

What Does Tiger Pose Mean?

Tiger pose is an effective pose for spinal health as well as a number of other physical and mental benefits.

Begin the pose in a table top position, with the knees aligned with the hips and the palms aligned with the shoulders. Lift the head and push the belly down while inhaling the breath. Lift the right leg up and back so the right foot approaches the back of the head. After a few seconds, bring the right leg down and between the hands toward the forehead. Remain in the pose for a few seconds and bring the right leg back to position. Repeat the same series with the other leg.

Tiger pose may also be referred to by its Sanskrit name, vyaghrasana.
