Bhumi Mean?
Bhumi is the Hindu Earth goddess, and she is the mother of the goddess Sita and the deities Alamelu Mangamma and Sri Padmavathi Devi. Statues and depictions of Bhumi show her seated atop the backs of four elephants that represent the four directions — north, south, east and west — while holding a vessel of water, bowls of herbs, vegetables and a pomegranate. She is also known as Bhumi Devi, Bhu-Devi and Dharani.

Worshipped for the life and abundance she gives, Bhumi is known as the Earth goddess or “goddess of the Earth.” As the Mother Earth goddess, she creates, gives life and sustains it, and she is regarded as a kind goddess of whom mankind indebted to with gratitude for Earth.
The daughter of Kashyup Prajapati, Bhumi is the mother of Sita, the Demon Naraka and the deities Alamelu Mangamma and Sri Padmavathi Devi. Those who honor her benevolence often chant her mantra: Om Shram Bhu Devyai Namah, which means, “I bow to the divine Goddess Bhu.” Respecting and honoring Bhumi can be done through mantra and also through action by living mindfully and respectfully of the impact we have on Earth and the environment.
