Ever heard the words shreem brzee? Perhaps you’ve chanted shreem before—the seed sound associated with the goddess Lakshmi. She represents both prosperity and freedom. But, what about brzee?

I’d never heard the word until I’d begun following the teachings of Dr. Pillai. He’s an Indian yogi turned internationally renowned guru, who teaches the mantra shreem brzee to his thousands and thousands of students across the globe.

And word has traveled fast.

People say chanting the mantra regularly has brought them both freedom and abundance. For when shreem and brzee are chanted together, Lakshmi’s powers become even stronger.

That’s what Dr. Pillai teaches, anyway.

But, why? Why does shreem brzee work? Or, does it work? Could chanting this mantra really bring financial and spiritual prosperity into one’s life?

Let’s explore this contested mantra to gain a better understanding of its inner workings and meaning. Then, you can decide if it resonates with you and your spiritual practice.

Where did the Shreem Brzee Mantra Originate?

Dr. Pillai, a noted Siddha master, who hails from the southeastern state of Tamil Nadu in India, swears by the power of this mantra.

He claims it will bring you financial prosperity, as well as spiritual wealth. According to Dr. Pillai, you can manifest miracles by chanting this mantra each day.

He even gives his students power times—specific times of the day, month, and year—when chanting shreem brzee becomes supercharged.

It’s believed that certain mantras are really powerful. They are sound vibrations that, when chanted, become integrated into our bodies, minds, and spirits.

To begin to integrate shreem brzee (or any mantra, for that matter) we chant it. Chanting involves repeating a particular mantra over and over again. We sometimes use a set of mala beads to keep track of the number of repetitions. It’s auspicious to chant a mantra 108 times.

While the mantra shreem has been around for centuries, brzee came onto the yoga scene only recently.

In 1999, Dr. Pillai was “given” the mantra by a deceased saint named Vishvamitra. The goal of this mantra, according to Dr. Pillai, was to cease the suffering of the world.

This was the primary reason saint Vishvamitra, a former emperor of India, came to Dr. Pillai from the other side—to end poverty and suffering for all people. Or in Dr. Pillai’s words, “he wanted to give a royal life to everyone.”

How do all Human Beings Enter a Life of Prosperity?

According to the teachings of Dr. Pillai, we can all live royal lives by changing our level of consciousness.

He posits that we can achieve this wealthy consciousness simply by bringing the mantra shreem brzee into our lives. Dr. Pillai believes the entire world can and will be transformed by this particularly magical and powerful prosperity mantra—that now is the time for such positive change and transformation.

Dr. Pillai says this is the number one mantra to chant every day if you want to achieve financial success. It’s an economic solution, he says, for people all over the world.

Shreem Brzee is Gaining Notoriety Across the Globe

The money mantra is spreading like wildfire. This seems to be the case due to the many enthusiastic endorsements by average, everyday people around the world.

People have been reporting money miracles, after dedicating their mantra practice to shreem brzee. They’re agreeing with what Dr. Pillai promises. He says, “when you practice shreem brzee, it’s not only going to give you material wealth….the material wealth will be a byproduct….you will get what I call a 200% life—100% material and 100% spiritual.” If you do a bit of research, or follow Dr. Pillai and his online tribe, you’ll see just how many amazing testimonials are out there.

Dr. Pillai even offers a course called "Ultimate Wealth Solutions," which is centered around the shreem brzee mantra. Dr. Pillai claims that this mantra will "permanently increase your merits, or positive karma, helping to transform EVERY area of life." Sounds like a pretty steep claim, doesn't it? And guess how much this life-changing course costs? $147.75 USD. And that's the sale price.

Sounds a Little Fishy, Doesn't It?

While each of us may feel differently about the steep cost of Dr. Pillai's "life-changing" teachings, the real problem comes from the lack of historical findings of brzee.

Dr. Pillai's website states that Vishwamitra discovered "brzee" through 1,200 years of meditation, and that the sound never existed on Earth before this. However, there is no reference to this mantra in ancient texts.

According to Astrologer Athena Sharma, shreem brzee "is purely a marketing technique to bring followership through the internet." She further states that brzee is not even a Sanskrit word.

This is the main reason shreem brzee has been contested. It's a bit difficult to put your trust in something that doesn't have any historical connection, unlike many other popular mantras.

So is Shreem Brzee Real or Not?

That decision is left up to you. All we can do is provide you with the facts available about the history of shreem brzee and the controversy surrounding it.

If shreem brzee resonates with you, maybe try incorporating it into your mantra practice. See if it really does bring you wealth and prosperity.

But also be aware, that unfortunately due to the popularity of yoga, there are those that seek to gain their own wealth and prosperity off the faith and hopes of others.

Remember that mantras are a powerful tool. They should be used to help you connect with the Divine within yourself.

Mantras should not be a marketing tool.
