First of all, there’s never a point of arrival. You’ll never get to say I’ve arrived, that’s just not there. Everybody’s in a hurry to get somewhere. It’s like when you go on vacation with your kids and they keep asking “Are we almost there?” Life is like that, we’re almost there all the time. It sounds like a cliché, but I would say, pursue excellence and ignore success. You know, success is a by-product of the pursuit of excellence. Success is a journey, it’s the progressive realization of worthy goals. It has to be undertaken with love and compassion. You have to have true self-esteem, which means you’re not dependent on others for validation. (Read more in a Guided Meditation for Finding Your Life’s Purpose.)
