Yogapedia explains International Yoga Federation (IYF)
The idea of the creation of a global yoga federation dates back to the 1930s, when it was proposed by Swami Asuri Kapila of France. Since then, a number of different organizations have been created with varying goals and aspirations.
In 1987, several national federations and associations from numerous countries came together under the banner of the global International Yoga Federation for the first time. Their services include international yoga teacher training, yoga courses and teacher identity cards.
