What Does
Sanga Yoga Mean?
Sanga yoga is a community style of yoga. In this style, the practitioners seek to use yoga as a way to grow and accept one another in a group setting.
Sanga yoga is used by practitioners of all skill levels and shifts the focus from the individual to the group. Those carrying it out look to share mutual benefits and support with the other members of their group. This helps promote a deep sense of community.
Yogapedia Explains Sanga Yoga
The aim of Sanga yoga is to quiet the mind and exercise the body, so that the practitioner can be part of a caring, non-judgmental community. This style of yoga is a way to build up a bond with others through a shared activity that has a strong focus on the group rather than on the individual.
Eric Paskel is credited with being the developer of Sanga yoga. His goal was to make group yoga more accessible to a wider range of people.
