What Does Yoga Organizations Mean?

There are a number of yoga organizations throughout the world that are currently active.

In many cases, these are nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to helping teach the world about yoga. Often, these communities have the stated aim of helping humanity by promoting happiness and good health.

The Yoga Alliance is one of the most well-known of these organizations, providing support and training to yoga teachers and schools on a global basis.

Additional yoga organizations worthy of mention include the Give Back Yoga Foundation, Off the Mat, The Africa Yoga Project, Bent on Learning, The International Association of Yoga Therapists and Yoga Hope.

Each of these organizations focuses on one geographical area or demographic. For example, Bent on Learning focuses on bringing yoga to New York’s inner city kids, and Yoga Hope seeks to provide the benefits of yoga to women all over the world who have been abused or traumatized.

Among the other important yoga organizations, are some that were established by Yogi Bhajan as a nonprofit. These include the 3HO Foundation International, the 3HO International Kundalini Teachers Association and the Kundalini Research Institute.
